Wow an impressive picture. Nicely centred and I love the symmetry created by the chairs either side. The silhouette is also a nice touch and gives a lot of contrast to the piece. It is however a bit dull, it would be nice to see the saturation enhanced, the orange and yellow could end up creating a very beautiful backdrop, which will serve to highlight the statue all the more, as-well as exaggerating the silhouette. All in all I really like this, it's very balanced and your eye is immediately drawn to the statue.
p.s It's great to see a good explanation provided about not only the location and context of the picture but the history too. To often this is something people neglect. :)

Thank you very much for taking time to critique.

I completely agree that it needs more tonal contrast as the far rear area blends to easily into the sky, with no really well define transfer point. This was more of simple snapshot that I took while warming up to take some other shots.

I have to admit I am one of those people who dislikes the current trend towards saturated images, LOL! I much prefer to work my images to an almost pastel, soft feel. Sadly I am in a minority and it costs me dearly in terms of page hits but sometimes you just have to follow your gut feeling.

hehe, at the end of the day if you like it then don't worry if your not following the latest trends. Art isn't about conforming :)
